RMR-86
What is the difference between RMR-86 and RMR Botanical?
RMR-86 is our mold stain remover, it takes away any discoloration that the mold left on the surface and makes it look brand new again. RMR Botanical is our multi-surface cleaner and odor treatment solution, RMR Botanical takes care of the mold issue and treats the area, as well as greatly reduces the smell the RMR-86 puts off and takes away the moldy smells.
What is the difference between RMR-86 and RMR-86 Pro?
The RMR-86 Pro is our stronger, more aggressive mold and mildew stain remover than the original RMR-86. RMR-86 Pro does have a longer shelf life as well as utilizing its hybrid ultrapure sodium hypochlorite to remove even the deepest of stains without having to scrub. With this formula change you will even notice a difference in time that it takes for the stain to disappear.
What type of surfaces is RMR-86 safe to use on without the likelihood of damaging them?
RMR-86 is ideal for wood, decks, railings, concrete, outdoor furniture, drywall, siding, tile and grout, fiberglass, vinyl, counters, tubs, toilets, shower doors, boat seats, boat surfaces and more.
What type of surfaces is RMR-86 not safe to use on?
RMR‐86 can be corrosive if applied to the following materials: ductwork, copper, metal, mechanicals, nail plates, steel, aluminum, or any materials prone to corrosion. If RMR‐86 is accidentally applied to these materials, quickly wash area with soap and water or wipe down with WD‐40.
What is the coverage for the RMR-86?
On average a 32 oz bottle covers about 60 square feet and a 1 gallon covers about 200-400 square feet. This can vary based on the severity of the affected area, as well as how liberally the product is applied.
Does the RMR-86 kill mold?
Unfortunately, RMR Solutions is unable to state that this product actually kills mold due to not having an EPA registration number. We have been told from numerous contractors from their proven tests, that this product did in fact kill the mold spores.
Will the mold come back after using the RMR-86?
Mold can certainly grow back after using any type of mold product out there. The key to keeping mold from growing back is making sure you correct the issue in which mold is able to grow. Keep in mind if there is humidity relatively above 50% or any kind of moisture on a substrate, mold can grow. Use RMR-86 to remove those ugly stains and make sure you fix the moisture problem to prevent mold from fully coming back.
How do I apply the RMR-86?
A direct spray is required for the RMR-86 to work properly. Using a trigger sprayer on the bottle for small jobs, or a pump-up sprayer or an electric sprayer for larger jobs. Using on a rag is also acceptable in some cases. Make sure you shake product vigorously prior to applying as well.
Is PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required when applying the RMR-86?
Yes, but some work areas like outdoors are already well ventilated, so skin and eye protection are mainly needed. We still always recommend wearing full PPE when applying RMR-86. This includes a hooded tyvek or a chemical poly coated suit, full face respirator with P100 organic vapor and acid gas cartridge filter and latex gloves.
Why must I wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when applying RMR-86?
RMR-86 is Sodium hypochlorite-based, which can be hazardous without proper equipment and precautions. In addition, mold stain cleanup environments are already hazardous, and precautions should always be taken.
Is there an expiration date on the RMR-86?
Under proper storage RMR-86 is scientifically designed to maintain its performance properties for a minimum of 6 months. Due to its chemical makeup, it will break down slowly after that and lose its strength.
Is there a warranty with the RMR-86?
RMR Solutions does not provide any warranty on the chemicals we manufacture. Typically, a warranty is provided based on the work that has been done as a whole. A contractors warranty is based on the corrective action that has been taken to prevent mold from coming back.
How long after I’ve sprayed the RMR-86 do I need to stay out of the treated area?
This answer may vary, the faster the product is dried the faster the odor starts to dissipate. Keep in mind the more product that is sprayed the longer the odor might last. Spray only enough product to remove the stains, start off light then apply more as needed. Also keep in mind you can spray RMR Botanical right after to help greatly reduce the odor of the stain remover. The more air movement the better, fresh air can be added by a fan and this will speed up the drying time.
How long after I’ve sprayed the RMR-86 can I spray the RMR Botanical?
Once you’ve sprayed the RMR-86 and the stains have been removed, you can immediately start applying the RMR Botanical. The sooner the RMR Botanical is sprayed the faster the smell from the RMR-86 will start to dissipate.
Will RMR-86 stain clothing?
Yes, the RMR-86 will most likely discolor your fabrics. It contains sodium hypochlorite, which will bleach out your clothing.
Can I repaint the area after applying the RMR-86?
Yes, once the area is completely treated and completely dry, it will be safe to repaint the area again if you desire.
How should the RMR-86 be stored?
RMR-86 should be stored in a cool, dark (away from sunlight), ground level area away from carpet, upholstery, metal, flooring, etc.; that may be damaged if leakage occurs after the fact. Please inspect all contents of packages upon delivery to ensure that they were not damaged during shipping.
Why should I use RMR-86 over competitor products?
RMR-86 is the most advanced mold stain and mildew stain remover on the market today. It has been specifically formulated and tested in the field for many years. Our active ingredients are far more of a premium quality then most others.
What makes the RMR-86 different than other mold stain removers?

Can I use the RMR-86 on or in my washing machine?
We don’t recommend using the RMR-86 on or in washing machines, since it is corrosive to metals. If you are extremely careful and don’t get it on the metals, or wash the metals immediately, then there shouldn’t be a problem. You also would want to make sure there is no remanence of the RMR-86 in the washing machine so that it does not come into contact with clothing.
Can the RMR-86 be used in my HVAC ducts?
The RMR-86 is corrosive on metals, so you would not want to use it inside your HVAC ducts. You can however use the RMR Botanical to take care of mold problems and treat smells from mold.
Can the RMR-86 be used on wood that already has a sealant on it?
The RMR-86 could potentially remove the sealant as well, so we recommend testing it on a small area first to see the results. If it does strip the sealant, you can reseal the wood after RMR-86 has dried.
What will happen if RMR-86 drips or is sprayed onto plant life around my house or deck?
The RMR-86 can be harmful to plant life if it gets onto it. However, if needed you can simply rinse off all plant life with a garden hose within the first few minutes if over spray occurs. But we always recommend that you try to cover the plant life as much as possible before applying the RMR-86 near it.
Do I need to remove the insulation in my attic before spraying the RMR-86?
Not necessarily. If there is no mold present on or behind the insulation then you can keep the insulation there, but you do not want to spray the RMR-86 onto the insulation. If there is no way to cover the insulation, then it may need to be removed.
Does RMR-86 need to be diluted?
RMR-86 is a ready to use formula, dilution is not required. If diluted the product may not be as effective.
Can RMR-86 be used on carpet without harming it?
We would not recommend using RMR-86 on carpets. RMR-86 is a bleach-based formula which could result in discoloring the carpet.
Can RMR-86 be used on shingled roofs?
Yes, RMR-86 can be used on shingled roofs, just be sure to be careful and covers grass, bushes and ferns to prevent the product from killing any plant life from over spray. We have found that if you thoroughly water the plant life surrounding the work area, before and after spraying RMR-86, it will protect most plant life.
Can I fog the RMR-86?
Fogging is not an option when applying RMR-86. A direct spray is required for the product to work.
What does RMR-86 smell like?
The RMR-86 has a very strong chlorine like smell which is why the full-face respirator is required.
Can I use the RMR-86 on Vinyl Boat seats?
Yes, on most vinyl boat seats it’s safe. Simply rinse of the surface after you are done. Work on smaller areas at a time, treat with RMR-86, then rinse. Do not go more than 15 minutes before rinsing a surface. Also, be careful on nylon straps as it will damage them on contact.

On average a 32 oz bottle covers about 125 square feet and a 1 gallon covers about 500 square feet. This can vary based on how liberally the product is applied.

What is RMR Odor-X Pro Odor Eliminator?
RMR Odor-X Pro is an extreme odor eliminator that destroys the odor molecule without masking it.
What types of odors does the RMR Odor-X Pro remove?
RMR Odor-X Pro eliminates several odors but the most common are smoke, mold & mildew odors, pet accidents, cigarette odor, and bathroom odors. Customers use it for pet odors or smelly gym apparel. Parents often use this product for sports equipment (e.g., football, hockey etc.).
Can I fog the RMR Odor-X Pro?
Fogging RMR Odor-X Pro is the preferred method for applying this extreme odor remover.
What does RMR Odor-X Pro smell like?
The RMR Odor-X Pro is formulated to leave no scent or fragrance behind only clean, crisp, fresh smelling air. There is a slight tracer scent in the product to help customers know where they have sprayed. The tracer scent disappears after a minute or two.

How long does it take for my order to ship?

My 1.5 Gallon Solution Sprayer is missing parts, or has broken parts what should I do?
Since RMR Solutions is not the manufacture of the pump-up sprayer, we do not have extra parts. If you need replacement parts you will have to contact the manufacturer. Otherwise, please contact RMR Solutions via email or phone to discuss a replacement or a refund.
My RMR Electric Sprayer stopped working. What is wrong?
The first question you want to ask yourself and or crew members is, were the instructions read prior to use and did someone pour chemical into the bucket sprayer? There are many warning stickers on the product saying not to do this. No solution should ever be put into the bucket containing the pump. The Electric bucket sprayer has an intake line that siphons the solution out of the container. All bucket sprayers are tested with water prior to shipping to a customer.
How long does a P100 Organic Vapor and Acid Gas Cartridge last?
These cartridges have 60 breathing hours. If you are working in a dusty area the cartridges may vary, you will notice a restriction of air flow as the filters start to clog up.
Which suit is better?
The chemical resistant shield tech 55 is the best suit to use. Keep in mind, this is not a chemical proof suit so please always be careful when spraying the product. Spray ahead of yourself and work your way out of a confined area.
Why do I need a full-face respirator?
RMR-86 is Sodium hypochlorite-based, which can be hazardous without proper equipment and precautions. With no face coverage the RMR-86 will cause irritation to your eyes and skin and exposure to the vapor or mist may irritate the respiratory tract and cause coughing.
What will the Ultraviolet Flashlight help with?
The UV Flashlight is perfect for locating the true source of odors. It helps to clearly show dried urine and stains from animals or humans on carpets, rugs, clothes and in bathrooms. If you can’t see it, you can’t treat it. This is best if used with RMR Odor-X Pro, it will not help with identifying mold.
